Exam Format
The exams are rigorous, yet flexible and reflective of real-world business environments.
The candidate must exhibit a multi-dimensional understanding of management, marketing, finance, and professional ethics. Each exam is designed to require up to 100 hours of research and composition work with a focus on testing the analytical and decision making abilities of the candidate.

Successful Completion
Once the credential evaluation and both exams have been completed successfully, the candidate will attain the CGME designation.

Which specific areas are covered in the exams and must the exams be taken sequentially?
The CGME examinations are designed to test the holistic business acumen of the candidate; hence, individual topic weightings are not assigned. The examinations may be taken in any sequence and the topics covered are illustrated below.
How are the exams graded?
Once the completed examination response is received by IGMLE, it is reviewed by a designated panel of industry professionals and graded on a scale of 1000. The responses are graded with a focus on critical reasoning, full-spectrum comprehension of multiple disciplines in business, and structured reasoning of the candidate.
What are the current pass rates?
Current passrates are not disclosed as the program places focus solely on the quality of responses and not the quantity of applicants. Traditionally, pass rates have ranged from 65% to 79% for each exam and are trending lower.
How long does it take to receive a grade for the exam?
Grades are communicated to the applicant within 30 days of receipt by the Institute.
Can I retake an exam, if i did not pass in the first attempt?
Yes, a candidate may make up to four combined exam attempts in one calendar year.
Does the CGME® have continuing education requirements?
No. However, the institute reserves the right to implement CE requirements in the future.
